  7.       I  have  been asked how to set up more than one ISP on the Amiga.  So
  8.       here is a quick article on how to set this up using Genesis.

  10.       I have three ISP's set up on Genesis:
  11.  
  12.       1)  This  is  my  back up ISP Ukonline, as my first one is BTInternet
  13.       which I use Miami for.  But as all ISP's will have problems from time
  14.       to time, it's always handy to have a backup.
  15.  
  16.       2) This one is for@2 The Crypt@5 web site.
  17.  
  18.       3) This one is for a spare site that I use incase anything happens to
  19. @2      The  Crypt@5 main web site, then I can easily point the URL to the back
  20.       up site.

  26.                                  Genesis Wizard

  28.       For this article I will presume you have one ISP already set up.
  29.  
  30.       So how do we put another ISP on Genesis?

  32.       Start up Genesis Wizard:

  34.       Click on @1"Next".

  36.       As  most people use a modem to connect to the internet, highlight the
  37. @1      "Use a modem"@5 button.
  38.  
  39.       Now  comes  the  important bit.  The Wizard should have picked up the
  40.       fact  that  you've  already got one account set up, so a new box will
  41.       appear  saying @1"Genesis Wizard found that you've already configured a
  42.       modem  previously,  Would  you  like to reuse it or would you like to
  43.       specify a new modem?"@5

  45.       Click on @1"Reuse".

  47.       Here  you  will  need  to put in your new user name, the password for
  48.       that account and the new phone number.

  55.       Then click on @1"Next".

  57.       It  will then ask you for @1"The protocol"@5, leave it on @1"ppp"@5.  Also it
  58.       asks  if  you  require  a  @1"login  script?"@5,  put  as @1 "No, go online
  59.       immediately".

  63.       Then  we get to the clever bit where Genesis dials up the new ISP and
  64.       get  all the info it needs to make the connection.  So click on@1 "Dial
  65.       (F1)".

  67.       If  all  goes as planed and you have put in the correct info, it will
  68.       save the new config file.

  72.                               Personalising Genesis

  74.       Now  you  have  two  ISP's  on Genesis, we need to change a couple of
  75.       things to make it easier for you in the future.

  77.       Start up Genesis:

  79.       Press  the  right  mouse  button  and go to@1 "Settings/Genesis"@5 in the
  80.       menu.

  82.       A window should open called @1"Genesis prefs"

  84.       Go to @1"Interfaces"@5 and you should see all your ISP accounts listed.

  86.       To  make  it  easier  when  you  want to dial up, click on one of the
  87.       accounts and press @1"edit"

  89.       Where it says @1"Name"@5 there should be@1 "PPP"@5 or@1 "PPP1"@5, just change the
  90.       name  to  whatever  your account is (IE:  my ppp is renamed Ukonline)
  91.       Click on@1 "Okay"@5.  And repeat for the other accounts.

  93.       When you've finished, press @1"Save".

  98.                                   Using Genesis

  100.       Now  you  have  more  than  one  ISP  set  up,  how  do  you  use it?
  101.       .....Simple!
  102.  
  103.       Starting  up Genesis, you will notice two lists of names.  Just match
  104.       the  user  name  to  the  ISP  and  press @1"Connect"@5.  .....That's it.
  105.       Genesis will now connect you to whatever ISP you wish.

  107.       All  you  have to do for other ISP's is just repeat the same steps to
  108.       have as many as you want.
